Why Storage Matters

EGT17™ contains live enzymes in their active fermentation matrix. Proper storage preserves this activity for the life of the product.

Ideal Conditions

Store the sealed tub in a cool, dry location. A feed room, tack room, or pantry is fine, provided it is not exposed to prolonged direct sunlight or extreme heat. The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C and 25°C.

After Opening

Reseal the lid firmly after each use. Moisture is the primary concern. A dry scoop kept inside the tub helps prevent moisture transfer. Use the product within 90 days of opening for optimal activity.

What to Avoid

Do not store EGT17™ in a refrigerator or freezer. The moisture cycling that occurs when a cold container is brought into a warm feed room can cause condensation inside the tub. Do not mix EGT17™ into hot feeds or add it to boiling water. Room-temperature or warm feeds are fine.

Shelf Life

Unopened tubs have a shelf life printed on the packaging. Store unopened tubs in cool, dry conditions. The product does not require special handling during shipping.

What is HSB-10 and how does it work?

Why do horses need extra digestive enzymes?

Horses make very little amylase on their own. This is the enzyme that breaks down starch. When a horse eats grain, much of the starch passes through the small gut without being broken down. It then reaches the hind gut, where bacteria ferment it fast. This makes acid, which drops the gut pH and harms good bacteria.
