How to Introduce EGT17™ to Your Feeding Program

Before You Start

EGT17™ is designed to complement your horse's existing feeding program, not replace any part of it. You do not need to change your current feed, hay, or supplement routine. Simply add 50 grams per day to the existing ration.

Week One: Getting Started

Add 25 grams of EGT17™ to one feed per day. This half-dose introduction allows fussy eaters to adjust. Observe your horse's acceptance and manure consistency.

Week Two: Full Dose

Increase to the full 50-gram serve. Continue feeding at the same time each day. By the end of the second week, you may notice changes in manure consistency.

Weeks Three to Six: Observation Period

Continue the daily 50-gram dose and observe. Changes to look for include improved coat shine, increased appetite, calmer behaviour (particularly around feeding time), and more consistent energy levels during work.

Long-Term Feeding

EGT17™ is designed for ongoing daily use. The enzymatic support works with each meal, so the benefits are maintained through consistent feeding. If you stop feeding it, the horse returns to relying solely on its own enzymatic capacity.

Feeding Multiple Horses

The dose is the same for every horse: 50 grams per day. Whether you are feeding a 400 kg Thoroughbred or a 600 kg Warmblood, the dose does not change.

What is HSB-10 and how does it work?

Why do horses need extra digestive enzymes?

Horses make very little amylase on their own. This is the enzyme that breaks down starch. When a horse eats grain, much of the starch passes through the small gut without being broken down. It then reaches the hind gut, where bacteria ferment it fast. This makes acid, which drops the gut pH and harms good bacteria.

The results can be serious. Horses may get hindgut acidosis, colic, or laminitis. They may lose weight, have a dull coat, or refuse feed. They may act girthy or sour under saddle. About 30% of sport horses in Australia are thought to have some form of gut health issue.

The cattle study found a 29.5% drop in daily methane output. The sheep study showed a 52% drop in methane per kg of feed. Both results were strong and clear.
